Alumni Spotlight: Kingsley & Hayden (Class of 2023 & 2025)

They are siblings and are currently studying at ELCHK Lutheran Academy. 

Insight From Kingsley & Hayden’s Family

Q: Looking back, what made you choose Tutor Time for your child?

A: The bilingual focus in English and Mandarin, the nice playground facilities, the caring teachers and staff, the good hygiene standards, and the camera coverage during class time made us confident in choosing Tutor Time.

Q: How do you think Tutor Time prepared your child for primary school? Can you share any interesting stories?

A: The interview class is most useful in terms of preparing them for primary school. During class time, there were small-group sessions tailored to the needs of different types of primary schools, targeting each student. Also, with many years of kindergarten in-class training in show-and-tell skills, it prepared Hayden and Kingsley with good communication skills.

Q: What are the most valuable skills your child learnt in Tutor Time?

A: Language skills in both English and Mandarin, presentation skills, and social-emotional skills. 

Q: What is the most memorable moment with your child in Tutor Time?

A: Halloween party, Christmas performance, summer concert performance, outdoor field trip, 

Q: How would you describe Tutor Time’s teachers and staff? What impact did they have on your child?

A: The teachers and staff are nice and caring, and our kid grew from a shy, anxious toddler into a confident, joyful child. They love to go to school and develop their interest in learning.

Q: What is your favourite memory of Tutor Time?

Kingsley: Doing my class duty; being a line leader!  

Hayden: Playground time and get along with Ms. Cara and Ms. Angela

Q: What’s your favorite hobby or subject?

Kingsley: Science experiment and Maths 

Hayden: Maths and English 

Q: What do you think is the most important thing Tutor Time taught you?

A: Having good manners and language skills in English and Mandarin 

Q: Did you face any obstacles when adapting to primary school life? How did you overcome them? 

A: At first, we weren’t used to the long school day, so we just got some rest in recess and overcame it eventually. 

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up? 

Kingsley: Scientist

Hayden: Police
